DO YOU ENGRAVE JEWELRY?
We are a full service jeweler and offer both machine and hand engraving. If you desire an item to be engraved, we can do so for you, however, please remember that once an item is engraved, it can not be returned or exchanged.
HOW DO I USE THE PAYPAL PAYMENT OPTION?
You can easily send us money through PayPal. When you are on step 2 of the checkout process, simply ckick the Paypal payment option which will be below the credit card payment option. You will then be taken to Paypal's site which will walk you through the rest of the process. Please note that PayPal is not accepted on International Orders.
DO I HAVE TO PAY SALES TAX ON MY PURCHASE?
ONLY ORDERS SHIPPED WITHIN NEW YORK STATE ARE SUBJECT (BY LAW) TO SALES TAX. For any order shipped within New York State, an additional 8 5/8% (.08625%) sales tax will be automatically added to your order. If merchandise is being shipped anywhere else (outside of New York State), but within Continental United States, you do not have to pay sales tax.
Special Note for NEW YORK STATE RESIDENTS, LIFE'S A GEM does not charge sales tax, we only collect it. Please do not ask us to break the law.
ARE INTERNATIONAL ORDERS SUBJECT TO TAX?
International orders may be subject to duties and taxes, however, those costs may vary from country to country. We do not include those costs in our shipping charges and assume no liability for these costs. Payment of any taxes and/or duties is the sole responsibility of the buyer and it is advisable that you check into these costs before purchasing.
DO YOU ACCEPT PAYMENT BY CERTIFIED CHECK, MONEY ORDER , WESTERN UNION OR WIRE TRANSFER?
YES, we do accept payment through all of these methods. If you desire, you may pre-pay your order through either Certified Bank Check or Money Order (SORRY - NO PERSONAL CHECKS) or send us a Western Union Payment. Checks or money orders must clear both our bank and buyer's bank before merchandise is shipped. For wire transfer, please contact us and we will make the arrangements for transfer with you. No merchandise will be shipped until payment is received.
HOW DO I GET A PHOTO TO YOU FOR MY PHOTO IMAGING JEWELRY?
It's simple to get us a photo. For faster service and the quickest possible turn-around, just e-mail your picture in JPG or JPEG format to LaserPhoto@lifesagem.com. If you do not have the photo in digital format, just go to your local KINKOS, STAPLES, OFFICE DEPOT, etc. and have your photo scanned and put onto disk, then e-mail it to us.
DO YOU REMOVE LINKS FROM WATCH BRACELETS?
While we are fully equipped to remove links from watch bracelets, we DO NOT REMOVE THEM FOR OUR MAIL ORDER CUSTOMERS for a number of reasons.
First, without seeing the watch on your wrist, we have no way of determining the exact number of links to remove.
Secondly, each individual person has his or preferences as to how they like their watch to fit (i.e. loose, snug, high on the arm, low on the wrist). Additionally, once links are removed, the warranty is voided. SO PLEASE, IF YOU ARE THINKING OF RETURNING YOUR WATCH...DO NOT REMOVE ANY LINKS
HOW SOON CAN I HAVE MY POLICE JEWELRY OR PHOTO ENGRAVED JEWELRY?
These items are special order and require time and care in preparation. While we prepare and send these items out as quickly as possible, you must allow at least ten (10) to fourteen (14) days for these items to ship. Please remember that these items are special order and are NOT SUBJECT TO RETURN OR EXCHANGE.
DO YOU HAVE WATCHES IN STOCK, READY TO SHIP?
All watches that we advertise for sale are available and generally ship within twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours after order is processed. In the rare instance that an item is sold out or is unavailable to ship within seventy-two (72) hours after order processing, you will be notified and alternate arrangements will be made, according to your needs and desires.
WHAT IS YOUR WARRANTY POLICY ON WATCHES?
We honor the manufacturer's warranty in full under the same terms and conditions as the manufacturer and we advise and recommend to all our clients that, while they can bring the watch anywhere for service, that if they do experience any problems, they need only send the watch to us and we will be happy to correct the difficulties. We have an excellent team of watchmakers on our staff that are highly trained and extremely skilled and efficient in all aspects of watch service who are more than ready to tackle any problem they are confronted with. For example: Movado offers a one-year limited warranty on their watches for parts and labor against defects to the movement. We honor this warranty in full under the same terms and conditions as Movado as stipulated in their warranty papers. (Please realize - that as stated in warranty papers - that this warranty includes only defects to the movement and not batteries, crystals, etc) Additionally, we are not responsible for any merchandise that has been intentionally damaged or that has broken due to misuse or neglect.
All that you need do is simply return the watch to us within the warranty period and we will be happy to service it for you. If the watch is found to be defective under the warranty, we will either repair or replace it for you, free of charge.
WHAT IS YOUR WARRANTY POLICY ON JEWELRY?
All jewelry items are warranted against defects for a full thirty days. If any jewelry item is found to be defective within this time period, it will be repaired or replaced for you, free of charge. This warranty does not cover merchandise that has been damaged due to mishandling, abuse or neglect.
HOW CAN I VERIFY THE AUTHENTICITY OF MY PURCHASE?
LIFE'S A GEM does not deal in "imitation", "second-hand" or "fake" goods. You may take your purchase anywhere, including, the manufacturer, to verify authenticity. In addition, LIFE'S A GEM offers a full seven (7) day return policy on your purchase in the event that you are not satisfied.
